Competence, Transparency & Compassion

Cory Cordes, CTC
Cory Cordes is a credentialed and formally educated professional animal trainer with a background in applied behaviour analysis and in working with a wide variety of species.
Cory is an honours graduate of the prestigious Academy for Dog Trainers where she became Certified in Training and Counseling (CTC). The Academy for Dog Trainers is the most comprehensive dog trainer program in the world and is regarded as “the Harvard for dog trainers” because of its academic rigor and performance standards. Cory has completed workshops with Bob Bailey, considered to be the world’s most accomplished animal trainer, where she further developed her mechanical training skills.
Her education in behaviour also includes Living and Learning with Animals for Professionals by Dr. Susan Friedman, Contemporary Animal Training and Management for Professionals by Natural Encounters, Inc., and a Diploma in Animal Behaviour Technology (Dip.ABT) with honours by CASI. Additionally, she is a dog*biz Certified Dog Walker.
Cory specializes in husbandry training, in which she teaches animals to enjoy and voluntarily cooperate in their own care including medical procedures, and in fear and aggression. She is a Fear Free Certified Trainer and is happy to collaborate with veterinarians.
Cory’s mission is to improve the quality of life of animals and their people with best behaviour change practices and education. In an unregulated industry crawling with self-proclaimed practitioners and detrimental training methods, Cory is proud to offer the standard of care with her services and rejects the use of pain, fear, and force to motivate animals. She utilizes effective, evidence-based behaviour change solutions and trains efficiently with incremental training plans and data-driven progress. She provides transparency and informed consent to her clients, and with her training in client counseling and coaching, she works with her clients in a compassionate and supportive manner.
Cory is a member of the Pet Professionals Guild and is committed to ongoing professional development.
